Hugs and warm thoughts from the warm heart of Africa!

Been thinking about you as we have been spending some time with seasoned missionaries (Bill and Cheryl). Then Cheryl thought to check your site here, and I noticed your adorable family picture! Love it! What a beautiful portrait of a beautiful family. Was this family camp?

Hope you are feeling well today. Thoughts and prayers are always with you. Much love.

help for chemo patients ***Cleaning for a Reason*** If anyone knows of someone in need of this, please pass it on. If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along. Great information, You may not know someone going through chemo, but someone on your email list might. http://www.cleaningforareason.org/

Hi Karen, I am Dr. McFadden's patient from Florida.  I called his office when I couldn't pull up your website.  So glad it is working and thrilled the chemo has brought your count down. I just wanted you to know that I always think positive thoughts and pray for your every day.  Maybe it has something to do with our name.  I look up at our beautiful sky here in Florida and talk to God about you.  Keep updating us on your progress. Good to hear from you again

 Hi! Karen

It was so good to hear from you again. I enjoyed seeing the pictures from your Memorial Day weekend. Those grandchildren we share are precious. Surgery is never fun, glad your parents are there to help take care of you, while Dave is at work. Want you to know we keep praying. "With God all things are possible". It will be great if you will be able to go with Dave on the trip you had planned. I am sure you will, you are a fighter, you are up and about already.  Love, Shirley

Thinking of you

Hi Karen,

Sitting at my computer as the sun is setting .  Welcoming in the Sabbath and thinking of you.  I hope you are feeling better after the surgery and other treatment. I will keep praying that God will add His very special blessing to your doctors and their treatments.

Vanessa saw her doctor today and it sounds like baby will be coming soon.  We are awaiting the call.  I have my suitcase packed.  She is having a little boy.  Remember our days in Taiwan when we were the ones having the babies?  Doesn't seem so long ago.  Now we are grandparents!

Love and prayers, Jeanne

Good to hear from you again..

Hi Karen,

Although I do not reply often I appreciate your blog. You have impressed me through all your treatment. We seem to need to stay close to home this past year and today I started my PARP inhibitor drug in this new research by  Abbott.  Being in this research I spend the whole day receiving my chemo drugs in the morning and blood draws all day long.  They end up taking about 150 cc.

May you continue to have great results from your treatment.  I pray your surgery will go well if that is what they decide to do.

Take care dear friend, Barbara

Good News

I was glad to see your picture -- way to go, Girl !!  I stopped at Camp AuSable a few weeks ago, and was interested to see the pictures of camps in the Craft Building hall.  Some of those go back to the 40s.

I saw your folks at Metropolitan SDA School Grandparents Lunch.  Dick and Marge Rasmussen were there too.  They were friends of my uncle Charles Everest at EMC in the late 40s.  I was so surprised when I grew up to find how short Marge was.

Our love and prayers are with you in your journey.  I'm amazed that you've felt as well as you do and have been able to fit many trips around your treatment.  We're so glad for the blog.

Fondly, Kathy

Hugs & Prayers

Dear Karen,

I was waiting to get your message today.  I am praying you won't be so nauseated this time - hope the new med makes a difference.  I'm glad you got to talk to that lady in the chair next to you as that is such an encouragement to me to know that even though you have to go through chemo again, your future looks good.  Your pictures are also an encouragement to me as you look great and wonderfully well!  Keep up your courage.  I jotted 1 Peter 5:7 down some time ago because I thought of you when I read it.  It gives us comfort when the going gets tough!   "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."  You are always in my daily prayers.

Love you and think of you often, Cheryle

I am so glad you are feeling well.

I have been praying that this might be a real cure.  What sort of results are they getting in this study??  Or do they tell you that??

Gregory is having a great time in Ethiopia.  Doing much more fun stuff that he sees in the states.  With what they have scheduled now they will be up to 35 thyroids.  Plus a lot of other cases.  He has just one more week.

Love you,  auntie

Greetings and Prayers

Hi Karen!  This is a voice (well ... sorta) from the past!  Michael Tan from YAH here!  Yes, we are still in Michigan and still in Berrien Springs.  I was just recently pointed to your site.  Karen, my prayers are with you.  May God give you the strength you need to fight this that Satan has put in your path.  There will be days when you do not feel like He is there but God will ALWAYS be right there beside you.

I will continue to pray for you that God's will be done and His name is glorified in all you do...in your journey to healing...in your life, as you continue to let Him lead.

Please say my warmest regards to Dave.

God's blessings.

Your old friend,
